Peterson’s Periodical
October 2011
Dear Co-laborers,
We are pleased to report that we have reached the field of Zambia, Africa. We know that it is because of a faithful God and faithful co-laborers that we are here. We can’t thank you enough for the valuable part you have played in our deputation and now you will be an even more significant part of this ministry as you continue to faithfully pray, support and encourage this work in Zambia.
We arrived with minimal complications, one flight cancellation and delayed bags; but what a joy it was to be greeted by the “Ladies Choir” from the “Lighthouse Baptist Church” of Lubuto and our fellow missionaries. It was a sweet reunion that blessed our hearts and made our arrival a very special event.
Before our arrival we were concerned with the political climate as the presidential election on September 20th brought some unrest to the area with rioting and demonstrations that did result in some serious consequences, but the rioting turned to celebration as the result were announced that Zambia would have a new President with the former president losing his position. Please pray that the new administration will be a positive thing for Zambia and her people.
We’re ready to get busy for the Lord and look forward to what He will allow us to do here. We will begin by visiting some established works and getting acquainted with the good people of Zambia. As you can imagine there will be a lot to set into motion as we begin to adapt to our new home. We’re glad to report that our work permits were approved and we are now considered Zambian residents. We will be getting our “ARC” or “Alien Registration Cards” soon. PTL!
We would ask that you continue to pray for us as we begin to get better acquainted with the people and country of Zambia, please pray that we will adapt to our new home and environment and pray that the full amount of our remaining support comes in quickly. We know there are many churches who wish to be a part of this ministry and we look forward to hearing from those of you who would come on board now that we are on the field. We are truly blessed to be a part of the furtherance of the Gospel of Christ in Zambia and pray that you at home will join us to win Zambia for Christ!
Serving together,
